Frugal solutions to acces safe water in every home
SOLAR TEARS
663 millions
According to the United Nations, 663 million people do not have access to improved drinking water sources, and each day, nearly 1,000 children die due to preventable water and sanitation-related diarrhoeal diseases.Despite the development of industrial solutions for the treatment of unsafe water, the cost of those solutions prevents people in developing countries from accessing safe water.
The Solar Tears solutions
Our mission is to co-develop frugal solutions for and with people in developing countries (India, Africa) to access safe water.Solar Tears is an action research program made of 2 objectives:- Create affordable solutions of solar water purifiers
- Generate open-source knowledge on frugal engineering
Share with us
